The PDO suture, two weeks after implantation, has a breaking strength equal to about 75% of the initial one, which after four weeks becomes slightly less than 70%. In six weeks the tensile strength is between 55% and 60%.

It occurs through hydrolysis and is completed in about 180-220 days.
